Rotary WHIS-RAD Project

The Rotary WHIS-RAD project

The idea is really quite simple: A donor club, which provides funding, and a recipient club, which provides site selection and oversight, a partnership. By supplying a World Health Imaging System for Radiology (WHIS-RAD) unit that meets the World Health Organization (WHO) standards, Rotary clubs can be assured they are offering the right solution for the greatest need.

Park Ridge Rotary of Park Ridge, Illinois, which has pioneered this program through the installation of a pilot site at the Mater Dei Hospital. Park Ridge Rotary is committed to helping other Rotary clubs develop similar programs working with partners they may already have, partnering with other donor clubs to share the cost ,developing a way to provide matchmaking for donor and recipient clubs and sharing the experience gained in establishing a pilot site.

This web site is one aspect of our commitment to help other clubs develop their own programs around the WHIS-RAD system. We also have a portfolio available to disseminate information on the program and be responsive to questions as they occur. We are developing a growing inventory of both donor and recipient sites to facilitate the development of partnerships.
